Opening doors with The Internet Of Things

More and more devices are smart and connected through the internet with people or with each other. Together they form the Internet of Things, in short IoT. The technology is becoming a low threshold so that IoT is more accessible than ever. Combining IoT with Machine Learning creates a lot of new opportunities for companies with smart internet-bound products. At Kentivo, we are filling in these new opportunities with our clients. Our recent IoT projects showcase the incorporation of IoT in different industries and realizing innovations with new or legacy systems.

Facility management, for example, has a close relationship with IT from the beginning. After all organizing, planning, managing and executing flows is a data- and tracking-intensive process. One of the main goals in facility management is optimizing costs and capital use. Through IoT facility managers of large buildings, or even of several buildings, can always have real-time insight for example in the performance of their installations, the productivity and well-being of the users and the electricity consumption. Actually, on all values that are important for the successful management of a building. IoT also makes it possible to adjust immediately, so that it is easier to keep control. With EVA, Kentivo offers the customer the opportunity to act actively and not just respond to existing circumstances. Facility managers can monitor and control objects, improve processes and optimize performances. This results in a faster solution to problems and it saves money.

Putting IoT to use for smart parking

We live and work as close together as possible. That is accompanied by all kinds of challenges. One of the big questions is how to keep the livability of densely populated areas well without putting too much burden on the environment. Deploying smart parking solutions can make a big difference here. For example, in an average city 30% of the visitors is looking for a parking space. The search lasts about 20 minutes on average and is accompanied by a lot of air pollution. By incorporating IoT sensors into public parking spaces and using a parking app, the visitor can find a free parking space more quickly (and can also pay this directly). Smart parking solutions results in less parking stress and lower CO2 emissions.A pleasant extra for municipalities is that smart IoT solutions can be implemented more efficiently and cities can gain better insight into the occupancy rate of parking spaces. Kentivo will build more intelligent solutions in the future to make existing legacy systems more intelligent without replacing them. IoT will open many new doors for innovative solutions.
